Sirinya Matchacheep

Sirinya Matchacheep received an A.B. from Cornell University, where she double majored in Chemistry and in Biological Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2007 from Harvard University, where she worked under the guidance of Professor Stuart Schreiber.

Dr. Matchacheep has been involved in teaching and undergraduate advising at Harvard since beginning her graduate studies. After completing her doctoral work, she joined CCB as a Preceptor in chemistry. She later served as Assistant Director of Premedical and Health Careers Advising at Harvard College before returning to CCB in her current roles. As Director of Introductory Undergraduate Laboratories, she oversees the full operation of the chemistry teaching laboratories on the second floor of Zimmer Hall (formerly the Science Center) and collaborates with faculty and Curriculum & Pedagogy Managers to develop lab curricula for their courses. She has lectured in general and organic chemistry at both Harvard College and the Harvard Extension and Summer Schools, and her current courses are in organic chemistry. She was awarded the Harvard Bok Center for Teaching and Learning's Certificate of Excellence in Teaching multiple times, and in 2024 she was named to the inaugural class of recipients of the Anya Bernstein Bassett Award for Excellence in Teaching. In her spare time, she enjoys playing piano, gardening, and traveling.
