Charles M. Lieber Awarded NIH Director's Pioneer Award

Professor Lieber earned the prestigious NIH Director’s Pioneer Award for his creative, syringe-injectable mesh electronics for stable monitoring and modulation of neural circuitry. The new mesh electronics paradigm affords seamless integration with the brain and is expected to provide unprecedented opportunities for neuroscience and neurology.

Part of the High-Risk, High-Reward Research program, the Pioneer Award supports exceptionally creative scientists pursuing new research directions to develop pioneering approaches to major challenges in biomedical and behavioral research.
