Career Resources

Job Boards

We host two chemistry job boards, one for academic positions and the other for corporate and private industry jobs.

Corporate Recruiting

Every year in August, CCB organizes corporate recruiting events for our job-eligible graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to network and interview with industry representatives from a variety of chemistry-related fields. Visits are welcome to be either in-person or virtual.

CCB graduate students and postdoctoral scholars and external recruiters may contact Kathy Oakley for more information about how to participate in our corporate recruiting events.

AbbVie - August 11

Ferring Pharmaceuticals - August 15

GlaxoSmithKline - August 16

Janssen - September 23

More Harvard and External Career Resources

We post even more job opportunities, career events, and fellowships and awards on the CCB Community site, which requires a Harvard key to access. We also encourage you to browse the Office of Career Services website: Their office organizes career fairs, workshops for job seekers to improve their CVs and interview skills, and networking events with employers. They also offer one-on-one advising.

For a comprehensive list of jobs and internships posted exclusively to Harvard students, check out Crimson Careers website.

Postdoctoral scholars, who are looking for their next career opportunity, can find a wealth of job postings and career workshops through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs website.

Outside Harvard, a number of scientific and career organizations keep up-to-date lists of chemistry-related position openings. We recommend browsing the American Chemical Society career website; After College, a chemistry and chemical biology job board; Science Careers, which offers advice, career fairs, job boards, and more; and ZipRecruiter's list of chemistry jobs.
