Laboratory Manager/Administrator: Ines Santos
The Liau Lab is developing chemical approaches to illuminate molecular mechanisms of gene regulation, while exploring the promise of chromatin regulators as therapeutic targets. We employ chemistry to create functional small molecules and to develop new methods, and apply them in conjunction with biochemistry, cell & molecular biology, and functional genomics to investigate biological mechanisms. Our goal is to establish an interdisciplinary, highly collaborative environment to train young scientists at the interface of these fields. Before joining the CCB faculty in 2016, Brian received an A.B. in Chemistry & Physics in 2007 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2013 from Harvard, and later studied cancer epigenetics as a postdoctoral fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital.
