The Burroughs Wellcome Fund program is intended to enhance the scientific development and productivity of outstanding young investigators at the postdoctoral level whose work spans the interface between biology and the computational, physical, engineering, or theoretical sciences. The program provides bridging support, including support in the advanced postdoctoral years and in the first years of faculty service. The aim is to assist individuals in making the critical transition to obtaining a faculty position and becoming independent investigators.
