CCB EDIB Committee

The CCB Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) Committee is responsible for assisting department leadership in relationship building and stewardship of specific communities within CCB for the purpose of ensuring those communities feel welcome, included, engaged, mentored and supported.

The committee aims to build community across the department while fostering research and academic excellence. The committee should strive to help create frameworks for engagement that foster an environment that is diverse and inclusive.

A word cloud with aspirations like integrity, welcoming, innovative, inclusive, and collaborative

Membership/participation

The Community Committee is comprised of staff, faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and students. Committee membership is open to any interested party with an investment in the betterment of CCB. Committee members are expected to attend meetings regularly, provide input, and serve as liaisons to their constituencies. When someone is not able to attend a meeting, they should review previous meeting minutes and speak with someone from the group who attended to stay abreast of group activities and decisions.

The group seeks to make recommendations through consensus. In situations that do not call for consensus or where consensus cannot be achieved, divergent opinions will be noted and shared with CCB leadership.
