Giovan McKnight wins NOBCChe Undergraduate Poster Competition

CCB undergraduate Giovan McKnight won first place in the undergraduate poster competition at the 50th annual National Organization for the Professional  Advancement of Black Chemist and Chemical Engineering (NOBCChE) conference which took place in New Orleans from September 11 to 14.

Each year, the Annual Conference provides opportunities for networking and mentorship between students of all levels and professionals. In addition, the conference creates a venue for scientific dialogue through technical programming, as well as personal and professional development for students and early/mid-career professionals.

McKinight won for "Fluoro-2,6-Dimethyphenyl Mono-Hydroxychlorin and Porphyrin Congeners," a PDF copy of his poster is available here.

The mission of the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) is to build an eminent cadre of successful diverse global leaders in STEM and advance their professional endeavors by adding value to their academic, development, leadership, and philanthropic endeavors throughout the life-cycle of their careers.
