On Wednesday, November 1, Mona Minkara, Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at Northeastern University, delivered two lectures at Harvard CCB sponspored by HWIC+.

Dr. Minkara’s research at Northeastern focuses on using computational methods to study biological interfaces at the atomic and molecular scale. Currently, her research group uses molecular dynamics simulations, molecular docking calculations, homology modeling, and Monte Carlo simulations to investigate pulmonary surfactant, the complex protein-lipid substance that lines the alveoli in the lungs. SciPol Club launches advocacy group (SPRAG)

Harvard's SciPol Club has launched the Science Policy Research and Advocacy Group (SPRAG). It will be a yearlong series of weekly workshops, roundtable discussions and invited talks where students will work in teams to research and write a policy proposal. The group's ambition is to pitch their proposals to federal lawmakers on an advocacy visit to Washington, DC in the spring. The Harvard Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology held its first-ever undergraduate research symposium, showcasing the innovative research projects of some of the brightest young minds in the field.

On March 8th, HWIC+ organized a casual bagel and coffee breakfast to celebrate International Women's Day and organize a swag pick-up (HWIC+ branded sweatpants). The event enabled attendees to socialize and form connections in a casual environment.
